U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 2.7% Over Last 12 Months-U.S. Inflation Calculator

Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 0.3 percent to 2.7 percent over the last 12 months. Most items went up but energy went down. Dec. 11th, 2024  CPI. Basically your still going to pay a little more for products. A few may may opt to stay in their home and brew their own lattes. The problem is the squeeze has been on going. Lingering is a word I might use.

There appears to be some factors like softening of the labor market as well as some geopolitical issues that also influence inflation.  Lower energy costs may boost the economy a little going forward. Mixed signals will complicate things for Fed Rate Cuts and as we move into a new administration we are likely to see some policy changes going forward as well. Forbes-Inflation
