Author Matthew Williams on the Psychology of Hate (Dehumanizing Thought Experiment)

Professor Williams discusses hate and the many factors that have made their way into online hate speech. If you have been watching my thought experiment starting a few years ago you will find the similarities in perceptions to this work and others. So far we have stages of 1, Justice Default (4 waves of aggression) and 2.) Dehumanization. Let us see if some of the observations from the thought experiment seem to match the video below.

In the video he discusses degrees of distance, in-groups/outgroups, difference, social group conformity and the learning of hate from one's background. In the thought experiment we discussed degrees of similarity to group center, in-group/outgroups, homogeneous social networks and rigid group adherence requirments (ostracizing people who one would not normally). There are other concepts too numerous to mention.

It would appear that the thought experiment has validity (Face Validity) similar to what other professors and doctors are talking about. However, we have done such a good job exploring this concept we have many layers of theory detail. As crazy as it sounds thought experiments do uncover lines of logic.

Stage 1: Justice Default took the form of removing basic human/civil rights and violation of social contracts as well as exposure of corruption. 4 waves of aggression including personal, group, aggression 1, aggression (follow up echo).

Stage 2: Dehumanization results from the failure to recognize the harm caused, retaliation for discussing solutions, and no recourses (You can see how default and justice and dehumanization relate to each other).

We will keep each section short so we can focus on simple concepts. If you follow long enough you will find interwoven mini themes. Let us turn the page in the theoretical philosophical learning story....

*This is a hypothetical philosophical learning story that acts as a thought experiment on the logic of hate. Take with a grain of salt. There is a positive outcome.
